Presentation of Software Development in Matlab

Albatroz Engineering participated in the seminar, organised by "The Mathworks" in Lisbon, Portugal. The Matlab software involved in the overhead power line solution was presented by Alberto Vale.

Albatroz Engineering was present at the PorTI 2007 organized by the Portuguese Ministry of Economy between the 11^th and 12^th of July at the FIL, Parque das Nações in Lisbon.

Education and Training: IAESTE Internship Begins

Acting in conformity with its policy of cooperation between academic institutions, Albatroz created the second IAESTE internship focusing on the development of tools for geo-referenced data bases.

Presentation of "Integração, Flexibilidade e Tempo Real..." at XII ERIAC

Gomes Mota presented a paper on Integration, Flexibility and Real-Time: critical criteria for the design of a over-head line inspection solution ( "Integração, Flexibilidade e Tempo Real: critérios críticos no desenho de uma solução de inspecção de linhas") before the ERIAC Study Committee B2.

The 20-minute presentation was followed by a 15-minute discussion.

Albatroz Engineering presented its Power Line Maintenance Inspection at ExpoERIAC, the technical exhibition associated at the Technical Sessions of ERIAC.

Presentation of paper "LIDAR Data Segmentation ..." at IFAC DECOM2007

Alberto Vale presented the paper "LIDAR Data Segmentation for Track Clearance Anomaly Detection on Over-Head Power Lines" at DECOM2007, IFAC Workshop Technology Transfer in Developing Countries: Automation in Infrastructure Creation - TT that took place from the 17 ^th to the 19 ^th May, 2007, in Izmir, Turkey.

Portable Ground 3D Acquisition Equipment

Albatroz Engineering presents the Ground Mobile Unit for terrestrial operation. This unit will permit the 3D acquisition of terrestrial features merged with images and GPS location. It can be installed on a ground vehicle (Jeep, ATV etc) or carried by a technician in the field.

New office

Albatroz Engineering moved its office to Rua da Conceição in Lisbon-s Downtown.

The new site is located in the traditional business district and the centre of the city. It is the crossroads and meeting point since Lisbon was reconstructed after the historical earthquake of 1755.

Collaboration with Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa

Kick-off of a Final Year Project of the Departament of Electronics, Telecommunications and Computers Department of Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa (ISEL) in collaboration with Albatroz Engineering.

The project title is Detection of anomalies on high-voltage power-lines ("Detecção de anomalias em linhas de alta tensão"). It will be performed by students Joaquim Mota and Paulo Ferreira under the coordination of MM. Pedro Miguéns and André Lourenço.

The project focuses on embedded computing with real time digital signal processing.

The project is to be completed by September 2007.

12^th Conference on Harmonics and Quality of Power

Albatroz Engineering participated on the Technical Exhibition of this IEEE conference which took place in Cascais, Portugal.

IAESTE internship comes to completion

The first IAESTE internship was concluded.

This work focused mainly on the design of the real time user interface for airborne line inspection and the production of web contents to enhance the presentation of Albatroz' solutions within the website.
