For a period of six weeks, Albatroz Engineering hosted Dániel Sparing, a final year student of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science of Budapest University of Technology and Economics.

The scope of his activities included the manipulation of geo-referenced data from airborne over-head line inspection. In parallel, he tried to get acquainted to the activities and needs associated with power line maintenance inspection.

In an initial phase, Dániel Sparing created queries to access and select geo-referenced data according to geographical or topological conditions and merged those with the results of data classification from the power line inspection algorithms.

Then, he compiled geographic data into a database to illustrate the possibilities of cross-correlation of inspection data with different geo-referenced representations of the environments around the power lines.

In the last phase of his time with Albatroz Engineering, he transposed the previous results into a geographical information system with a graphics interface. Google Earth was used as an example, illustrated on the right, where tridimensional inspection data raise from the Digital Terrain Model composed with ortophotos.

The Albatroz Engineering team was very pleased with the enthusiasm and commitment shown by Dániel throughout the period of his internship.
